There’s more to life than shopping…

Broke, and miserable about it? What exactly are you miserable about? If you’re genuinely struggling to make ends meet, fair enough. There’s plenty you can do to ease the burden, covered in this blog. But if you’re just feeling low because your natural retail therapy instincts are being thwarted, maybe it’s time for a long, hard look at what makes you happy, and why. After all, there’s more to life than shopping!

Sometimes shopping is no more than a habit – a sort of obsession. Think about why you do it. Is your shopping habit obscuring a feeling of general, non-specific dissatisfaction with your lot? Or are you unhappy about something specific? If so, it’s probably better to tackle your feelings head on than hide them behind spending sprees.

Hypnotism is a brilliant way to ease feelings of unworthiness, boost your confidence, give yourself a treat and feel much better. It can do a great deal more for you than help you stop smoking, lose weight or change your mental attitude from negative to a more realistic positive. Hypnotherapy can reduce stress, improve your social performance if you’re shy, manifest dramatic life changes and bed in new, positive behaviours.

Simply talking things through with someone warm and friendly, who’s prepared to listen, also helps.

If you’re totally dying for a splurge, imagine how great you’ll feel if you save up for a couple of months then treat yourself to a well deserved shopping trip. You’ll probably enjoy it more than ever, simply because you’ve worked so hard for it. Impulse buying is almost always a downer, when you buy stuff you certainly don’t need – or even really want – just for the temporary buzz.

Make a list of the things you really want, and how much they cost. Pin it up somewhere you can see it every day. Make a mood board with pictures of the things you want and spend time fantasising about how great life will be when you own them. Appreciate the good things in life more: friends and family, your job, the garden, quiet (or riotous!) nights in, the weather, your health and well being, your beloved pets, little things that make a big difference. And use our discount codes to cut the cost of the objects you deeply desire!
