Our old Fiat Punto was on its last legs so we took it to webuyanycar.com a month ago and sold it. Which was a painless and surprisingly pleasant experience. Instead of buying another car we decided to go the leasing route, replacing it with a brand new sporty Punto. Which has been a revelation!

Compared to our old Punto, the new one has a load of sensible fuel economy features. If you’re idling in traffic for more than a minute or so the engine cuts out automatically to save fuel, then efficiently and silently starts back up the second you need to move off. There’s six gears. Multiair engine technology gives the engine up to 10% more power and up to 15% more torque. It consumes less petrol and emits up to 10% less CO2, up to 40% less particles and up to 60% less nitrous oxide.

In real life it turns out our new car uses 50% less fuel than the old one, which is fantastic with petrol prices so high. Webuyanycar took our old one off our hands in half an hour with no fuss… and they were very nice men! Because we leased the new one for four years, we can exchange it for a new one after that with minimal fuss and bother. And leasing ends up cheaper by the month than buying via a 0% credit agreement.

Nice! We’ve won on the finance, selling, paying off and fuel economy fronts. And we’re polluting much less. That’s what I call a winner!
