It’s good to see huge, household name holiday companies like First Choice making greener travel and tourism options available.

More and more of us are keen to make less of an environmental impact on holiday. But we don’t all want to stay here for a staycation in the dubious British weather!

  • Every hotel in First Choice’s Greener Holidays brochure is recognised for making real efforts towards better sustainability. Stuff like cutting the amount of energy and water they use, cooking with local food and providing fair working conditions for their staff. The best performing hotels win  a bronze, silver or gold Travelife award
  • You can donate while you’re there and do even more for the planet. Give just £1 for each adult and 50p per child to the World Care Fund and First Choice will match it. Your cash goes to projects designed to reduce the impact we tourists have on the environment, supporting communities at holiday destinations right around the world
  • First Choice are working hard to make their resort activities more sustainable. They’re exploring how to make excursions better for local communities. More respectful of local culture and traditions. And kinder to the beautiful natural environments holidaymakers visit
