I’m a great one for making recipes up from scratch, being congenitally incapable of following instructions without gilding the lily and buggering it up. Some of my creations – it has to be said – are thoroughly horrid. But last night’s DIY pasta sauce was splendid, if I say so myself, and cost less than £1 a head. Here’s my recipe:
Ingredients
- a fistful of broccoli – 250g to 500g depending on how many of you are eating
- 1/4 pint of full cream milk
- 125g cheese, whatever kind you like as long as it’s grate-able
- salt and pepper
- one or two tins of tuna, again depending on how many of you there are
- pasta
Making your pasta sauce
- steam your broccoli
- grate the cooked broccoli finely with a cheese grater
- warm the milk and add the broccoli
- bring it to a simmer and add your grated cheese
- add salt and pepper
- add your tin/s of tuna
- mix with cooked pasta
Yum!
